Studio Policy

What may you expect?
My promise is that I will provide a professional lesson experience so that your child may reach his/her highest potential. I will provide weekly lessons during the pre-scheduled times.  If I am not able to teach a lesson, the lesson will be made-up, refunded, or credited to the next month. I will make every effort to provide 24 hours notice in the event that I may not be able to teach a lesson.

What I expect

Attendance:
Students are expected to attend lessons weekly.  Without a structured, consistent lesson schedule, it will be difficult to improve upon the student’s abilities.  Inconsistent lesson attendance is not an efficient use of your money or our time.  Please understand that if more than two consecutive weeks are missed, you may be removed from your time slot.

Tardiness:
Arriving on time for your child’s lesson will matter a great deal. Please be sure to bring your child a few minutes before the actual lesson time. Being even a few minutes late limits the amount of work that can accomplished during a shortened lesson time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, then your lesson may be canceled (which will count as a lesson taken.)   Bassoon students are asked to assemble their instrument and have a reed soaking prior to coming in for a lesson.

Absences:
If you find that your child is going to miss a lesson, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance (i.e. if your lesson is scheduled for 700pm on Wednesday, call by 700pm on Tuesday to cancel.)  If not notified by the 24-hour cutoff time, the lesson will be unexcused.   Unexcused absences will not be made up.  If your absence is excused, a makeup lesson will be scheduled.  If no makeup time can be scheduled, the cost of the lesson will be applied to the following month.   Lessons that are no showed and not canceled are unexcused. Excused absences due to an emergency or unexpected illness are at the discretion of the teacher.

Payments:
Private lessons are $24.00 per half hour lesson and $48.00 per hour lesson.  Lesson fees are paid once a month in advance by check (or credit card via Paypal) during the first week of the month. Please make checks out to THE COLLIER GROUP.NET LLC The cutoff date for fee payment is the 7th of each month.  Your payment reserves your lesson time slot.  If not paid by the second week of the month, the student may lose his/her time slot.  If you do not have a lesson during the first week of the month for any reason, the payment for the rest of the month is still due by the 7th.    Payments received after the 7th of each month are subject to a $5.00 late fee.

To pay via credit card, please go to:  www.paypal.com and send funds to the following email address:   flutebassoon@aol.com

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
